20-22 August Bitola, Macedonia
International Forum for Production Design was held from 20th – 22nd August in Bitola, with the participation of film professionals from the country and abroad. The central topic of the forum was “Production Design and New Technologies”. More than ten guests were present physically and online in the presentations and discussions that took place within the two-day forum.
The production design of an audiovisual work is the first thing through which the audience perceives the work and opens an incredible number of opportunities for promotion and interaction with it. The first day was dedicated to discussions on the general and current problems and conditions of this area in the region. The second day was dedicated to discussions on a specific topic. The aim is to strengthen the cooperation between film professionals in the region and the exchange of experiences in the film industry.
Among the forums` participants were producer Blaze Dulev, set designer Viktorija Dineva, animation professor, director and producer Krste Gospodinovski, production manager and set designer Petar Trajchevski, representatives of MZFP – the Association of Film Producers in Macedonia and the association of film professionals in Macedonia – AFP, actress and casting director Ljuba Piperova from Bulgaria, producer Bostjan Ikovic from Slovenia and others.
The forum is organized for the fifth time by the production and distribution company KT Film & Media, with the support of the Regional Film Fund “Balkan Cinema City”. The forum was supported by the Ministry of Culture. The goal is for Bitola and the Republic to become a center where in the future the annual meeting of production designers, producers, directors and authors would be held in order to improve the situation of this important segment of the creative industries in terms of economic (and cultural) development.
